Oktoberfest - A weekend break to remember

So it’s that time of year again - Christmas is over and the January blues have firmly set in, as we all gaze at our computer screens and dream away the cold mornings planning holidays and adventures for the year ahead. Today more than ever though the pressures and commitments of working and family life often leave less and less time for us to kick back and relax, or go in search of new experiences. It’s the age of the City Break, the Mini-Retreat and the Weekend break and we’re all learning to embrace it.
One such mini-break which has grown rapidly in popularity over the last few years is the mighty Oktoberfest in the beautiful German City of Munich. Just a few hours from London, each year Munich extends its arms to the world, as for 16 days it is overwhelmed by over 6 million visitors, who flock to experience the world’s largest beer festival. Over the course of the festival over 7 million litres of locally made Bavarian beer are consumed, along with some of the finest meats and sausages to be found in Europe.
Pillow Adventure Travel run a range of tours to Oktoberfest, either to/from London or accommodation only packages which can be combined with flights to create your perfect weekend itinerary. Transferring from Munich Airport to the beautiful Camping Thalkirchen where Pillow are based is easy, and before long you’ll be making the short transfer to the festival to soak up some of the legendary atmosphere, and even more of the famous beer! You may even find yourself truly getting into the spirit of things by getting involved with the local dress! Lederhosen and Dirndls are a plenty and before long you’ll be truly into the Bavarian spirit. For Further Details about Adventure Travel and Royal Ascot please visit the website.

It is one of those events that the weather can just not spoil, with the ladies all dressed up in the finest of dresses and hats, bringing a wealth of colour, sophistication and class to this famous and historic race course.
Ladies Day Ascot is one of those events that quickly gets sold out every year, as once you have been and attended Ladies Day, you will want to keep going back, time and time again, often adding to the number of people that you take with you.
Ladies Day is generally about the fashion of course, so it’s vital that you dress up and really look the part, because not only will everyone else be dressed to the nines in fine dresses, hats and gloves, but the whole race course will be turned into a place of a class, indeed, a place to drink fine wine and champagne and only eat the most fantastic foods!
